Recognition of the early sources of hadith has numerous bibliographic, traditional, and historical benefits. Some methodswhich are used to identify the hadiths and are extracted from written sources include: considering the document of original resources of the references, attributing the chain of document to the author of the book in hadith sources, and corresponding the subject of the hadiths with the title of the author's book. Studying the hadiths of “Al- Ghayba” by No’mani, which is one of the most important and oldest Shia sources on Mahdism, and comparing it with the available narrations and referential data reveal that he has drown on some books such as Salim- ibn Qays book and al-Kafi by Koleyni in his work. The sources that have been missed in Nomani's book are: the writings of Obeidullah ibn Musa Alawi, Ali ibn Hassan ibn Fazzal, Mohammad ibn Sanan, Mohammad ibn Ali Seirafi, Hasan ibn Mahboob, Ibn Homam Eskafi, Ibn abi Hamzeh Bataeni, Hassan ibn Mohammad bin Jomhoor, Abdullah ibn Hammad Ansari, Abdullah ibn Jabaleh, Abdulkarim ibn Amro Khas’ami, Musa ibn Sa’dan and others. In this study, from 478 hadiths of No’mani's al-Ghayba, the source of 438 narrations, based on some evidence, was identified, of which 85 were narrated from 2 available sources and 353 hadiths are taken from 20 unavailable resources.
